Stone slabs are made from stone blocks that are quarried and then shipped to manufacturers. These blocks are carefully cut into level sheets, usually about 3/4'' to 1 and 1/4'' thick, depending on the quality. These sheets, about 4' up by 8' up in size, are then carefully cleaned and treated, usually with sealants and a polish. Once the cutting and treatments are finished, they are stacked together and shipped for installation.
